Hello fellow word enthusiast! I prepared a speech for you all, in case you want a little introduction. Before that, before I drown you with words that might not interest you at all. I want you to know that this writer is jut another person who looks into writing and journalism as something they want to have a career with. I believe that despite this digital world, there is a need for responsible journalism. I want the return of reliable prints such as newspapers, books, and magazines where writers carefully research a topic and editors fact check and scrutinize them.
The digital world is full of SEO and content-marketing articles aimed to sell a product, not to properly inform you about a topic. It is a place where everyone can pretend to be experts, and one’s credibility depends on the number of one’ followers.
There can be a return of responsible journalism in the future, and I want to be part of that someday.
English, by the way, is my third language so pardon some mistakes along the way.
A Journey into My Passion for Writing
My heart yearns for a childhood dream that I kept on trying to hide under the rug. Seventeen years passed since I felt this infatuation towards writing, it is just a hum at the back of my head. Maybe an after thought that I chose for a whim. It became apparent to the point that I cannot deny myself anymore. For many years, I was lost and now I found a place where I want to be.
I used to scoff at people telling young people to follow their passions. Maybe the reason why I hate that idea is because I do not have the freedom to do it before. But now, I end up telling the young ones to choose a career they are passionate about. It will save them from an unknown loneliness of wanting to find a place where you can be free and happy. As a lawyer and a political scientist, I should no longer find myself looking for another purpose. Yet, here I am taking little steps to satisfy my passion.
Writing is weaving words from the deepest chambers of our mind, amidst the whispers of imagination and the gentle flutter of ideas. It is like dancing in a realm where words dance in harmony and stories unfold like intricate tapestries woven from the fabric of research.
From the tender age when the ink first met paper, I found solace in the art of expression. I borrow my paper’s newspapers and take all my might to read the entertainment section. I look for magazines and read small articles that a 10 year old girl can read. She also wrote several stories that made her elementary classmate smile. A good written article unravels life into worlds unseen, sculpt characters, and navigate the labyrinth of human emotion.
Writing is a journey for the writer and the reader. I never travelled before but reading features about a person’s journey was enough to make me feel like I travelled to other countries. The photos and information about new plants and food always attract my attention.
As I embark on this journey to pursue my passion for writing and journalism, I want you to also be brave to find a place where you can be happy and proud. It took me 17 years before I returned to my true self, it will take me a lot more years but I will continue as long as I get there.
